FAQ’s:

Project Rap 2009 is a playoff competition to detemine the new Project Rap Champions. Any rapper based within 50 miles of Xenia, OH is invited to compete. Applications for Project Rap will be accepted until Feb 1, 2009 or until 20 rappers have entered. The entry fee for “Project Rap” is $30 per rapper or group. This fee must be paid before you can be guaranteed a first round play date and is non refundable. Assignment of play dates for Round 1 will be determined on a first come first served basis. Assignment preference will be given to rappers of similar genres on the same night. Assignment decisions will be based on the requests of the participating rappers, but The Cavern will have final discretion concerning assignments. Failure to pay the entry fee by Feb. 1 st will cause you to be removed from Project Rap. You must be able to play the later round dates if you win a given round. Check the chart before choosing your first date. Failure to appear at an assigned show will result in disqualification from Project Rap.

Musical challenges will be issued at each level of the competition. In order to reward both musicall excellence and fan appeal, 20 points will be awarded for each paying supporter in attendance and up to 150 points will be awarded by the judges for each performance.

First Round begins Feb.7 - 20 rappers, 5 per night, top 10 rappers will advance to the second round. Playing order to be determined by lot the night of each show.

The semifinals will be held March 21 & 28 - 10 rappers, 5 per night Scores from the first round will determine the order of performance and the two nightly winners plus the top non-winning “wild card” and of each bracket will advance to the final round.

The Project Rap Finals will be held on Saturday April 25, 2009 with the top 5 artists.

Prizes:
Top Rapper - $140 plus Sponsors’ Awards.*
Second Place Rapper - $50 plus Sponsors’ Awards.*
Third Place Rapper - $20 plus Sponsors’ Awards.*
Participants Payments: Sponsor’s awards plus $1 per fan received during the first and second round shows. No per-vote paid for the Final Round show due to fixed cash prizes.

*Final cash prizes cannnot exceed the total of the application fees collected and are subject to adjustment if less than 15 entrants participate.
